Picnic in the park & Perth Royal Show

A couple of weekends back, the weather was supposed to be nice (and it was for a bit) we met friends down by the river for a sausage sizzle. In true brit style, we were cooking in the rain! We managed to take the kids to the beach and the lads did some fishing, it was just nice to catch up with everyone.

This week saw the Queen's Birthday, another bank holiday and the start of the Perth Royal Show. Wes took a day off in the week to avoid the crazy weekend that we went on last year. It was definitely a good move as the queues were non existent and it wasn't as manic as we previously experienced. It is quite an expensive day out, but well worth it to see the smiles on George's face throughout the day.

Father's Day Weekend in Busselton

Father's Day always falls on the first Sunday in September, so we booked a family break away down south for the weekend in Busselton. It is just over a 2 hour drive, but we stopped in Bunbury on route to for some lunch. The campsite we stayed at in Busselton was lovely, great for George. We brought his bike with us and it was safe enough to cycle all over the camp. He loved jumping on the inflatable pillow and was exhausted every night, he has never slept in so well! The pool was a bit chilly to use, but we were able to use the campsite down the road, which was heated.

We took George to a local farm and even there, he managed to home in on the train set! He is obsessed!! We spent the weekend dodging the rain, but had a nice break just the 3 of us, before the madness of the baby arriving at the end of the year is soon upon us.
